Project Value:
In Excess of $325 million

The Chatswood Transport Interchange was part of the overall construction of the Chatswood to Epping Rail Link. The development was required to integrate the eastern end of the new railway line from Epping with the existing North Shore Rail Line. This necessitated the demolition and re-construction of the Chatswood Railway Station to incorporate 2 new train platforms and associated rail lines, signalling and the like; the incorporation of a multi-level car-park underneath the new platforms; a large pedestrian mall running completely underneath the railway easement from west to east; a new 10,000m2 retail level above the train platforms and the preparation for 3 future residential towers above the retail level.

All of this work had to take place without disrupting the daily operation of the heavily used North Shore Rail Line and the associated bus services that fed it.

Executive Project Management Staff, whilst at another consultancy, held the positions of Independent Certifier and Contracts Manager and were engaged equally by all three Joint Venture partners. Our roles was to monitor, assess, certify and report on the progressive draw-down of finance during the course of the Project.

Duties also included the review and certification of site progress via Separable Portions together with the review and determination of numerous Extension of Time Claims.

The completed Interchange is a testament to the ingenuity of the designers and construction team and the related Commercial and Contractual expertise and skill contributed by Executive Project Management Staff.
